Chatham man arrested for public intoxication
A 39-year-old Chatham spent some time sobering up in police custody on Saturday after a suspicious person call led to his arrest.
Police said they were called to the area of Wellington Street around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday.
Officers arrived to find the man unable to care for himself.
He was arrested and lodged at police headquarters until he was sober.

'Suspicious' man carrying home-made spear arrested in Chatham
Several calls about a "suspicious person" helped police arrest a man who was spotted walking in Chatham with a makeshift spear strapped to their back.
Police responded to the call on St. Clair Street in Chatham around 4:08 p.m. on Saturday.
Police said they received multiple calls about a man walking down the street while wearing a mask and carrying a spear.
The man, who was not to possess any weapons, was located and arrested.
He was later released from police custody with a future court date.

Single-vehicle crash leads to impaired driving charge
A 23-year-old man from Dresden faces an impaired driving charge after crashing his vehicle on Dawn Mills Road.
Police said the driver was transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for minor injuries.
The responding officer believed the man to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.
The driver has been charged with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and operation while impaired – alcohol.
He has been released with conditions pending a future court date.
