Man arrested on outstanding warrants and breach of conditions 

A 51-year-old man is in even more trouble with the law after police were called to check on the well-being of a homeowner in Merlin.

Police attended the residence on Talbot Trail sometime on Friday.

Officers said the man was known to be wanted on two outstanding warrants and on conditions not to be in the homeowner's company.

The 51-year-old was charged with failing to comply with his conditions. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters and lodged pending a bail hearing.

Police also arrested the 59-year-old homeowner and charged him with facilitating the failure to comply with conditions.

The homeowner was also taken to police headquarters but later released from police custody.

Wallaceburg man arrested after allegedly walking out of Walmart without paying 

An 18-year-old man is facing theft-related charges after allegedly walking out of the Walmart store in Wallaceburg without paying.

Police were called to the store on McNaughton Avenue around 3:45 p.m. on Friday in response to a theft investigation.

Officers learned the man was seen taking items from the shelves and leaving the store without attempting to pay for them.

The 18-year-old was arrested and charged with theft as well as possession of the stolen property

He was taken to police headquarters and later released with a future court date.
