West Lorne went up against communities from Manitoba, British Columbia, and Quebec to compete for the grand prize. The runners-up will each receive $25,000 to renovate their home rinks.

Kraft Hockeyville is a contest in which success depends entirely on community support. Residents of West Lorne and surrounding areas rallied around the cause through every step of the competition.

The local arena secured their place in the top four after getting more than 830 messages of support from the public. Notable hockey figures like Bo Horvat even chimed in to voice their support for West Lorne. On Friday and Saturday, the winner was determined through a Canada-wide online vote.

All in all, West Lorne garnered more community support than any other team in the contest.
