Wanted woman arrested after trying to use gift cards at the wrong store
A 47-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted by police managed to get their attention when she allegedly caused a disturbance at a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the business just before 4 p.m. Sunday after the woman got upset when the business would not accept gift cards from another store as payment.
Officers said they arrested the woman after learning that she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
She was taken back to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Tip about suspicious activity leads police to stolen trailer
A 37-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged after police allegedly found a stolen trailer at his address.
Police said their investigation started when they were responding to a tip about some suspicious activity at an address on O'Neil Line in Howard Township just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Officers said while they were en route to the address, they learned that the complainant had seen a vehicle at a home they knew shouldn't be there.
When the complainant approached the vehicle, the driver reportedly fled the area, but police were able to get a description of the vehicle and pulled it over.
Two men were inside and while police were investigating, they recovered a stolen car trailer that was allegedly parked at an address in Wallaceburg where one of those men lives. The trailer was reported stolen from O'Neill Line on March 27.
A 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with possession of stolen property and was later released with a future court date.
The second man was released without any conditions.

Sombra man arrested for public intoxication
A 19-year-old Sombra man spent some time sobering up in police custody on custody on Sunday after officers picked him up at a motel in Chatham.
Police said they were called to the motel on Grand Avenue East just before 1 p.m. Sunday and arrested the man after they found that he was allegedly intoxicated to the point where he wasn't able to care for himself.
Officers said he was held at police headquarters until he sobered up.

Another public intoxication arrest
A 19-year-old Walpole Island man also spent his Sunday afternoon sobering up in police custody after he was allegedly seen trying to enter a basement of a home on Taylor Avenue in Chatham.
Police said they were called there just after 1:45 p.m. Sunday and by the time they found him, he was running on Grand Avenue East.
The man was allegedly intoxicated and unable to care for himself, so police arrested him and took him into custody until he was sober.
