Police drone tracks down suspect in connection to break-and-enter in Ridgetown
A 43-year-old Chatham man is in police custody after allegedly breaking into a business in Ridgetown.Police said the owner of the business was observing the male suspect inside the store at the time of the call.
Several officers responded to the break-in but learned the suspect had fled the scene.
Police were able to contain a search area and deploy an unmanned aerial vehicle, which lead officers to the suspect's location.
The 43-year-old was arrested for break and enter, theft, possession of stolen property, and disguise with intent.
The man was also already wanted by police for failing to attend court as well as breaching a curfew condition from a previous bail condition.
He was held pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested for impaired driving following slow-speed police chase
A 27-year-old woman spent some time sobering up in police custody after leading officers on a slow-speed police chase.
Police said they were called about a possible impaired driver in Chatham on Saturday.
The woman was located driving at speeds between 15 km/h and 35 km/h but didn't stop for police. Officers were able to perform a successful tandem stop maneuver, safely bringing the suspect to a stop.
The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
A drug recognition expert determined the woman to be intoxicated by drugs.
During the procedure the accused refused to comply with a lawful demand by the drug recognition officer and was charged with refusal to comply with demand and operation while impaired.
The accused’s motor vehicle was impounded and their driver’s license was suspended.
The woman was released when sober with a future court date.
