Man arrested after allegedly assaulting two people in downtown Chatham
A 29-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting another two people while waiting in line at a soup kitchen in downtown Chatham.
Police were called to the area of Fifth Street at around 9:20 a.m. Saturday and located two victims who advised that while waiting in line they had been assaulted by an unknown man.
Officers located the man still in the area and placed him under arrest.
The 29-year-old was charged with two counts of assault and later released from custody with a future court date.

Windsor man arrested for impaired driving near Chatham
A Windsor man is charged with impaired driving after caught by police while cruising through Chatham-Kent.
Police received multiple reports at around 7:27 p.m. on Saturday about an erratic driver in the area of Queen's Line.
Officers said the driver was travelling at high rates of speed and swerving across the road.
The vehicle was spotted travelling 166 km/h by police on Middle Line a short time after the calls came in.
Police said a breath test was administered and resulted in a fail.
The man was arrested and taken to police headquarters for another two breath tests registered him blowing over the legal limit.
He was later released from police custody with a future court date.

Chatham-Kent police scratch two more names off outstanding warrant list
Chatham-Kent police scratched two more names of their outstanding warrant list over the weekend.
On Saturday, police located a man in the area of Oakdale Road in Florence who was believed to be subject to an outstanding warrant.
Police said a query of the man confirmed a warrant was in effect for failing to attend court.
The 22-year-old Florence man was arrested and released later from police headquarters.
On Sunday, police were notified of a female who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants with Chatham-Kent police by Walpole Island police.
The 24-year-old Wallaceburg woman was brought to police headquarters in Chatham and held for a bail hearing.
