If you're looking to quit smoking, the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit has a new tool to help you accomplish that.
CK Public Health announced on Tuesday new nicotine replacement therapy such as patches and/or gum will now be available to Chatham-Kent residents looking to stop smoking and/or vaping.
Public health officials said the new CK STOP Program will be available to residents at least 18 years of age who do not currently have a primary care provider and meet the programs’ eligibility criteria. Those eligible can receive up to 26 weeks of free products and access to other counselling supports of their choice.
The program will offer in-person sessions bi-monthly and could mail eight weeks of products to those who prefer to attempt quitting on their own.
