Weapon discovered in Wallaceburg theft investigation

During a theft investigation on Wallace Street, Chatham-Kent police found a man in possession of a BB gun that looked like a real handgun.

Police say the man was out on conditions and probation at the time of the investigation. As a result, he was arrested for failing to comply with probation, failing to comply with an undertaking, as well as a weapon charge and carrying a concealed weapon.

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Young man wanted for break and enter

Police are searching for a person accused of entering a shed on private property and trying to steal Go Kart tires.

The incident happened around 12:51 p.m. on Friday at a home near Middle Line and Valetta Road. The suspect allegedly entered a residence's rear shed and tried to get away, but the homeowner scared them off. Police say the young man fled the area through a field at the back of the property.

Woman found to be on outstanding warrants

Police were called to perform a wellness check on a woman near Reaume Street in Wallaceburg, but ended up taking her into custody.

After confirming the woman's wellbeing, police discovered that she had warrants out for her arrest. She was taken to Chatham-Kent police headquarters to wait for a bail hearing.
