Break and enter suspect flees on bicycle 

Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a home in southeast Chatham and biked away from the scene.

A resident of Faubert Drive arrived at their home on Friday afternoon and noticed a strange bicycle was outside, according to police. Then, they say a man who had taken property from the house fled the scene on the bike.

Officers searched the area but could not locate the male suspect.

Man accused of threatening woman, damaging car

An altercation between a man and woman at a Park Lane address ended with several charges being laid.

Chatham-Kent police say the two parties had a verbal dispute which led to police being contacted. The man reportedly threatened the woman and vandalized a vehicle by the property.

The man has been accused of assault, mischief, and uttering threats of bodily harm and threats to burn personal property. He was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Window smashed at Queen Street business

Police are looking for more information regarding a break and enter at a business on Queen Street.

The front window was smashed around 5 a.m., according to police. Multiple suspects may be involved.

Chatham-Kent police remind residents to lock their doors, windows

Members of the community are urged to keep their vehicle doors locked and windows rolled up to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

"The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind everyone that criminals look for opportunities," a statement from the service said. "As the nice weather seems to be upon us, we would like to remind citizens that a vehicle with an unlocked door or open window is an easy target."

Police also advise to keep valuable items out of plain view.
