Concerned citizen helps police track down stolen vehicle in Tilbury
A concerned citizen is receiving credit from police after helping them track down a stolen vehicle.
Police said the woman reported a suspicious vehicle and driver in the area of Queen Street in Tilbury.
Officers located the vehicle and spoke to a woman. The vehicle was found to be stolen from the Essex area the day before.
The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was later released with a future court date.
Driving complaint leads to impaired driving charge
A 37-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with impaired driving after driving erratically on Queens Line heading into Chatham.
Police said the citizen who observed the driver could update officers until they arrived on the scene.
A man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was found to be four times over the legal limit.
The 37-year-old was charged with operation over the legal limit as well as operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs.
The man was released with a future court date.
Woman charged after allegedly trying to use counterfeit money in Chatham
A woman is now facing charges after allegedly trying to make a purchase with counterfeit money at a convenience store in Chatham.
The worker kept the money and contacted the police.
Officers said a woman was located outside of the store. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters and later released.
The woman was charged with possession of counterfeit money.
