Argument over dog's potty spot ends with assault charge
A 45-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged with mischief and assault after he got into an argument with someone about where his dog was doing its business.
Police said they were called to the address on McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday and learned that the victim and the man had been arguing about the man's dog relieving itself in a bed of flowers.
At some point in that argument, the victim started recording the man with a phone and the man then allegedly grabbed the phone and threw it to the ground.
Police said the confrontation got physical at that point, with the man allegedly assaulting the victim.
The 45-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief and assault.
He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested twice in one day in domestic violence case
A 38-year-old Chatham man is spending some time in police custody after he was arrested twice in the same day in connection with a domestic violence investigation.
Chatham-Kent police said their investigation started at around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and that officers learned the man had allegedly assaulted and threatened a woman over the past couple of months.
Officers said when they found the man, they arrested him and charged him with assault with two counts each of assault and uttering threats and one count each of assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
He was taken back to police headquarters and later released with a future court date and conditions that included not going to any place the victim is known to work, live, or go to school.
Police said they arrested the man a second time at around 10:30 p.m. the same day he was released after learning that he had allegedly returned to the woman's home.
He was taken to police headquarters again and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.
This time, the man was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham man arrested for mischief, harassment in domestic case
A 51-year-old Chatham man is facing a handful of charges after police were called to investigate a domestic violence case Tuesday afternoon.
CK police said they got involved after officers responded to a call about a disturbance on Turquoise Crescent in Chatham at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said their investigation showed that the man had allegedly shown up at the victim's work and home even though he had been asked to stay away.
Officers said the man is also accused of threatening to harm the victim in addition to allegedly damaging some property belonging to a family member.
As a result of the investigation, the man was arrested, taken to police headquarters, and charged with mischief, uttering threats, and criminal harassment.
He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Wanted woman arrested in Chatham
A 35-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted on "several warrants" is spending some more time in police custody.
Chatham-Kent police said they arrested her after they were called to an address on Taylor Avenue in Chatham for a bail violation investigation.
Officers said they found the woman and confirmed that she was wanted for mischief and failing to attend court.
She was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
