Chatham woman arrested for robbing victim at gunpoint
A 37-year-old Chatham woman is facing a pair of charges after she allegedly robbed someone in Chatham while threatening them with a firearm.
Chatham-Kent police said their investigation started shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday, adding that they learned the woman had allegedly stolen a large amount of money from the victim.
Police said they surrounded the suspect's residence and arrested her without incident.
Officers reported seizing a replica handgun and they were also able to recover the money that was stolen.
The woman accused of stealing the cash was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and robbery.
She was taken back to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested after violent outburst in Chatham
A 51-year-old man who was just released from custody a week ago is back behind bars after he allegedly breached his release conditions and assaulted three people.
Police said the man was arrested and later released from custody on July 11 with a condition that required him to stay away from a specific woman.
Despite that condition, the man allegedly approached the woman shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday on Turquoise Court in Chatham while she was with some family members.
Police said an argument started and escalated to the point where the man allegedly assaulted the woman and two other people.
He later turned himself in at Chatham-Kent police headquarters and was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and one count of failing to comply with a release order.
He was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham man taken to hospital after crash on Howard Road
Chatham-Kent police are investigating a single-vehicle crash on Howard Road in Raleigh Township that sent a Chatham man to the hospital.
Police said they were called to the scene just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, adding that their investigation showed a pickup truck was heading east on Sixth Line at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control at the intersection of Sixth Line and Howard Road.
The vehicle went off the road and stopped in a large ditch.
A 31-year-old Chatham man was taken to the hospital for medical attention and the investigation is ongoing.

Complaint leads to arrest for impaired, suspended driving
A traffic complaint in Chatham ended up leading police to an allegedly impaired driver.
CK police said they got the tip at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday and pulled the vehicle over.
Officers believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol, so he was arrested.
Police said they also confirmed that the man they arrested didn't have a valid driver's license.
He was taken back to police headquarters for further breath tests and was later charged with having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit and driving while suspended.
The man was later released from custody with conditions and a future court date.

Blenheim resident charged with impaired driving near Highway 401
A tip from Chatham-Kent police ended up leading OPP to an allegedly impaired driver near Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
Police said officers located the vehicle on Bloomfield Road near 11th line in Chatham-Kent at around 2:27 a.m. on Saturday.
The driver displayed signs of intoxication while interacting with the investigating officer.
The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service for further testing for further breath tests and was later charged with having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
The driver was released with a future court date.
