Man arrested for violating bail conditions  

A 45-year-old Chatham man, wanted on an arrest warrant, turned himself in on Monday morning. According to police, he passed another man, violating the condition that prohibited him from approaching within 25 metres of any location where the other man resides, works, or attends school.

He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested for failing to attend court 

On Monday evening, an officer located a wanted 38-year-old Chatham man while conducting a routine patrol on James Street in Blenheim.

The officer verified an active warrant for the man's arrest. The warrant was due to the man failing to appear in court regarding charges related to violating a release order, a probation order, and assault.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

 

57-year-old man arrested for assault 

A 57-year-old resident of Wallaceburg was taken into custody Monday evening for assault. 

Police discovered that a physical altercation between a man and the victim occurred. The situation escalated when the man allegedly struck the victim in the face.

The 57-year-old was transported to police headquarters and charged with assault. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Woman arrested for theft 

Police responded to a theft report at a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham. A 38-year-old Chatham woman was allegedly concealing merchandise and attempting to leave the store without paying for the items. 

After further investigation, police confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for another theft investigation on March 31, 2023.  

The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was charged with two counts of theft and two counts of possessing stolen property. She was released with conditions and a future court date.
