Blenheim woman defends World Jiu Jitsu title

A Blenheim woman is bringing back another gold medal from the World Jiu Jitsu Championships in Mongolia.

It's back to back titles in her weight class for Rain Pfaff, 23, who wasted no time beating her opponent from France in the gold medal match via armbar submission at the 3:12 mark, according to Thomas Armstrong, the proud Owner and Head Instructor at Armstrong Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, and Fitness in Chatham.

Pfaff is also a coach and trains at Armstrong Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing, and Fitness.

Armstrong said Pfaff used an arm choke, a triangle choke, and an armbar submission on her way to a second world championship in a row.

Pfaff arrives home this weekend.

Pfaff also fought her way to the top of the podium on behalf of Canada in Abu Dhabi last Fall by defeating her opponents in the 70+ kilogram division.
