Wanted man arrested in Chatham Township

A 33-year-old Chatham man who was wanted in connection with a theft investigation from February of this year has been arrested now.

Chatham-Kent police said they found him on Longwoods Road in Chatham Township shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

He was charged with possession of stolen property and was later released with a future court date.

Chatham man arrested for domestic violence, uttering threats

A 33-year-old Chatham man is facing a handful of charges in connection with a series of domestic incidents going back to 2021.

CK police said they arrested the man after they were called to an address on St. Clair Street in Chatham at around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The incident police learned about at that time included the man allegedly breaking into the woman's residence, damaging her property, threatening to harm her, and continuing to contact her when she told him to stop.

Police were able to find the accused and arrested him.

The man was charged with two counts of unwanted communication along with one count each of break and enter, mischief, and uttering threats.

He was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Screaming woman charged with causing a disturbance

At Halloween, this may not have been as much of a problem, but a 30-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested Wednesday evening for allegedly scaring customers outside of a business on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.

Police said they took her into custody after she was allegedly seen and heard screaming and yelling in front of the business at around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers said the woman was charged with causing a disturbance and she was later released with conditions and a future court date.
