A major thoroughfare in downtown Chatham has reopened a day early.
Construction on the Third Street Bridge over the Thames River wrapped up early and reopened at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 3.
The bridge was scheduled to be closed until 7 p.m. on Friday to replace deficient asphalt on either side of the bridge.
Brendan Falkner, the Manager of Engineering previously said the repair was at no cost to the taxpayers of Chatham-Kent and was covered by the company that originally did the work.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent would like to thank the residents for their cooperation and patience during this closure.
