Careless driving leads to collision
Police have laid a careless driving charge against a 56-year-old Chatham man.
The man was driving down River View Line on Sunday when he lost control and struck several trees, police said.
The driver was treated for his injuries by paramedics at the scene.
Stolen car recovered
Officers found an abandoned vehicle while on patrol in Howard Township on Sunday.
Police determined that the vehicle was a scrap car that had been stolen from a nearby property. Unknown suspects drove the car through a fence and continued driving until the vehicle broke down, police said.
The suspects fled the area.
The fence suffered some damage and police said that the stolen vehicle was returned to the owner.
Suspended driver faces numerous charges
On Monday morning, a Chatham-Kent police officer observed a vehicle being driven by a suspected suspended driver.
Police identified the driver as a 37-year-old Chatham woman who was found in violation of multiple Highway Traffic Act statutes. Due to the various charges against her, the woman's vehicle qualified for impoundment and was seized by the investigating officer.
