The fun backyard game of cornhole is set to draw some serious competition in Chatham-Kent next month.
The CornTogether Tournament event, hosted by ComeTogetherCK, will take place on September 10 at Kingston Park in Chatham and run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The tournament welcomes participants of all skill levels and will feature multiple boards built and painted by community volunteers.
"We're thrilled to invite everyone to join us for a day of friendly competition and community building," said CTCK volunteer and co-organizer of CornTogether Cornhole Tournament, Nick Konjuvca."Not only will participants have the chance to showcase their Cornhole skills, but they'll also contribute to our efforts in making positive changes within our community."
Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting ComeTogetherCk's ongoing projects, including The Gift, the future home of the Community Shop, downtown clean-ups, and other community-driven initiatives.
Residents can register for the event, signing up individually or as teams of two, online at cometogetherck.com or by contacting Brent Wilken at 519-784-2800.
Spectators are also encouraged to attend, enjoy the games, and participate in several on-site activities.
There is no admission to enjoy the park atmosphere during the event.
