Public intoxication arrest

A 43-year-old man is facing public intoxication charges.

According to Chatham-Kent police, the man was on Talbot Street West, near the municipal building in Blenheim, trying to fight people on the street.

He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and taken back to police headquarters to sober up.

Crash leads to impaired driving charges

A 27-year-old woman was arrested following a collision in Chatham.

Police said that a driver hit a parked vehicle on King Street and promptly left the area.

The offending vehicle was found by officers and the female driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol.

The woman is facing an impaired driving charge and was released with a future court date.

The investigation is ongoing.

Man arrested while already in custody

Police charged a man for a separate incident while he was in custody regarding a mischief investigation.

According to police, the investigation into a broken window at a business on Grand Avenue East led to the arrest of a 24-year-old Chatham man.

While in custody, police say the man made threats to harm another person and was arrested and charged with uttering threats.

He now faces charges for both incidents.

Construction equipment found

Chatham-Kent Police had equipment turned in that may be used in fiber optic work.

The equipment was found in a blue case with external pouches.
