The 2024-2027 multi-year budget process will officially begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15 when the draft budget is presented to Council.
That presentation marks the start of a political review process, which includes opportunities for public feedback.
As soon as the draft budget is tabled on November 15 it will be available for anyone to view on Chatham-Kent's municipal website.
The community consultation events will take place virtually on Wednesday, November 22 from 12-1 p.m. and Thursday, November 23 from 7-8 p.m. on the official Chatham-Kent Facebook page.
Both sessions will begin with a brief summary of the draft budget followed by a question-and-answer period.
Any groups or organizations who want to request funding must do so at the opening night meeting on November 15.
Council will meet to deliberate the budget from 6-10 p.m. Tuesday, November 28 through Thursday, November 30. If those three meetings aren't enough, more time has been set aside on Tuesday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 6.
All budget meetings will be held in person in the Council Chambers at the Civic Centre and can also be viewed live on the municipality's YouTube channel.
