The iconic Tim Hortons smile cookie campaign is kicking off the holiday season with its first-ever winter campaign.
All of the proceeds from each cookie are donated to support local charities and community groups hand-picked by Tim Hortons restaurant owners.
This holiday season, Pet and Wildlife Rescue will be receiving the proceeds from Chatham, Wallaceburg and Dresden's restaurants.
“We decided there’s no better time than the holiday season to continue this tradition in a new way," said Chief Marketing Officer Hope Bagozzi. "We’re excited that Holiday Smile Cookies will also support Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, which since 1974 has supported over 315,000 youth at seven camps. We know our guests across Canada will be thrilled to help us support the spirit of kindness this holiday season.”
The campaign will run from Monday, November 13 to Sunday, November 19.
In June, $69,000 was raised through the spring campaign for the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent (CTCFCK).
More than 140 volunteers from the community, including treatment centre staff and community members, assisted with baking and decorating Smile Cookies at the Chatham Armoury kitchen to augment the baking inside the Tim Hortons locations.
Throughout the course of the seven-day campaign, volunteers baked more than 25,000 cookies.
"We are honoured to have been chosen for the very first Holiday Smile Cookie campaign," said Pet and Wildlife Rescue CEO Myriam Armstrong. "The animals in our shelter will have an extra special holiday this year."
