The Big LePlowski to clear Chatham-Kent streets this winter

The Big LePlowski and Taylor Drift are just two of the six snow plows that will be clearing Chatham-Kent streets this winter.

Through November, the municipality had residents nominate and then vote on names for six of the city's snow plows. After more than 30 submissions in the running, the winners of the plows were announced Monday.

"It's truly heartening to witness the creativity and engagement of our citizens in naming our snowplows," Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff said in a statement.

The six names include:

  • Skip the Ditches

  • Plow Patrol

  • Austin Plowers

  • Taylor Drift

  • Snowtorius B.I.G.

  • The Big LePlowski

"This contest exemplifies the strong sense of community we cherish, where everyone plays a role in shaping our shared experiences," said Canniff.

The municipality extended its appreciation to WINMAR, who sponsored the contest.

"Their persistent commitment to the community contributes significantly to the success of initiatives like this in Chatham-Kent," read the statement.
