Machete-waving woman arrested in Chatham
A woman who was seen waving a machete around while she was walking in the middle of the street is facing a pair of charges.
Chatham-Kent police said they found the woman walking in the middle of Queen Street at around 4:20 a.m. Thursday.
Police said she was swinging a machete around and yelling obscenities when they saw her.
Officers said the woman cooperated with their demands to drop the machete and she was taken into custody without any further incident.
Police said their investigation further showed that the woman had attended a man's home on Richmond Street with the machete and that she had raised the blade towards him during an argument.
On top of that, the woman was also bound by a probation order that banned her from possessing any weapons.
A 34-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a probation order. She was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Woman accused of uttering threats via text
A 40-year-old Chatham-Kent woman has been arrested after she allegedly sent some threatening text messages.
Chatham-Kent police said they got involved when officers were called to an address in Chatham for a disturbance just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers said they learned that the woman had texted the victim "numerous times," making comments that she was going to harm him.
Police said when they found the woman later in the day, she told the officers that she had also repeated her comments.
The woman was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats and she was taken to police headquarters where she was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Wanted man arrested eight months later
A 26-year-old Chatham-Kent man who was wanted since the middle of April has been arrested.
Police said they found him while they were responding to a call about a family dispute at an apartment on Fifth Street in Chatham just before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they confirmed the man had been wanted since April 14 in connection with a breach of probation investigation.
Police said the man is currently facing two counts of breaching his probation.
He was arrested and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Chatham-Kent man wanted for shoplifting arrested a month later
A 54-year-old Chatham-Kent man who was wanted in connection with a theft at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Blenheim on November 19 has been arrested.
Police said their investigation shows that the man went into the store, removed some items from the shelves, and left without paying for them.
Officers were able to confirm his identity by reviewing some surveillance video and a warrant for his arrest was issued when police couldn't track him down.
He was arrested on Grand Avenue East in Chatham at 1:20 a.m. Thursday and was taken to police headquarters.
He was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Woman arrested after screaming and yelling outside of the hospital
A 48-year-old Wallaceburg woman accused of yelling and screaming outside of the hospital in Chatham is spending some time in police custody.
Police said they arrested her after they followed up on a call to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Grand Avenue just before 4 a.m. Thursday.
Officers said the officer who found the woman saw her yelling and screaming profanities, so she was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance.
She was taken into custody and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
