With significant rainfall in the forecast, the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Outlook bulletin.
Weather forecasts are calling for 20 to 35 millimetres of rain for the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority watershed.
Precipitation, lack of snow cover and wet ground conditions may result in higher-than-normal water levels as well as ponding in low-lying areas.
The Texas low-pressure system is also expected to bring gusty winds out of the southwest of up to 70 kilometres an hour Wednesday.
The conservation authority said individuals, children and pets should avoid area watercourses and flooded areas due to dangerous conditions, slippery banks and cold, swift moving water.
It will continue to monitor watershed conditions and will issue advisories should flood issues arise.
