The Windsor Spitfires' front office was kept busy on Monday.
By the end of the day, the OHL club had traded away three players, claimed a fourth off waivers, and picked up a total of seven draft picks.
First, Windsor traded defenceman Roberto Mancini to the Flint Firebirds for a second-round draft pick in 2024, and Flint's third-round pick in 2027.
Mancini, from Vaughan, got three assists in 19 games with the Spitfires this season.
Next, Windsor sent a goaltender to the Ottawa 67s. Ian Michelone heads to the nation's capital in exchange for Ottawa's 12th-round draft pick in 2026.
Michelone heads back to his hometown after appearing in 19 games over two seasons in Windsor, compiling a 6-8-2-1 record with a .867 save percentage.
The Spitfires were not long without a goalie, as they then claimed Max Donoso off waivers from the 67s.
Donoso is from Windsor and has played his entire OHL career in Ottawa. He started 99 games in net and currently holds a goals-against average of 2.93.
Finally, the Spitfires sent forward Jacob Maillet to the 67s, getting four draft picks in return. Windsor receives a third-round selection in 2024, a fifth-round pick in 2025, and second and third-round picks for 2027.
Windsor is still in last place in the OHL West Division with 28 points, though their play has stabilized since a change in coaches earlier this season.
The Spitfires are back in action Wednesday night when the Saginaw Spirit visit the WFCU Centre.
