Man wanted for theft from LCBO arrested in Chatham
A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man who was wanted for stealing from the LCBO on Wellington Street West in Chatham has been arrested.
Police said the man took the items off of the shelves on December 27 and left without paying for them.
Officers were able to identify the man by reviewing some surveillance footage and obtained a warrant for his arrest when they couldn't track him down.
The suspect was arrested at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Princess Street and King Street East in Chatham and was taken to police headquarters.
He was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Traffic complaint leads to impaired driving charge
A 65-year-old Chatham man is facing an impaired driving charge after he was the subject of a traffic complaint in Chatham Tuesday morning.
Police said someone called in the complaint just before 12 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Park Avenue East in Chatham and were able to identify the driver and the vehicle's registered owner.
Officers showed up at the driver's residence, found that he was intoxicated, and "formed grounds" to arrest the man for driving while impaired.
He was taken to police headquarters for breath tests before he was charged with having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.
The man was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Another traffic complaint nets an impaired driver
A 41-year-old Blenheim man who was suspended from driving is also facing an impaired driving charge now after police received a traffic complaint about a vehicle on Fargo Road in Harwich Township early Wednesday morning.
Police said the complaint came in just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, adding that the officer who stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver believed he was driving while under the influence of an "intoxicating substance."
The driver was arrested and taken to police headquarters for further tests and his vehicle was towed away.
A 41-year-old Blenheim man was later charged with impaired driving and driving with a suspended license before he was released with conditions and a future court date.

Man accused of throwing woman to the floor
A 24-year-old Walpole Island man with a history of run-ins with police is facing a new charge after he allegedly threw a woman to the floor in Walaceburg and then took off.
CK police said they were called to an address in Wallaceburg at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday for that investigation, adding that the man had already left by the time officers arrived.
Police said they found the man just before 1:30 p.m. and arrested him in connection with the case.
He was charged with assault, which he is now facing in addition to previous charges of failing to comply with a probation order, obstructing a police officer, escaping lawful custody, failing to identify himself, and failing to stop for police.
He was taken into custody and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Man wanted for assaults turns himself in
A 25-year-old Chatham man accused of assaulting the same victim multiple times over the past five years has been arrested and charged.
Police said their investigation started when someone reported an assault shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday in Chatham.
Officers said their investigation further showed that the man accused of assault also had a history of assaulting the same victim and damaging their property, going back to 2019.
The accused turned himself in at Chatham-Kent police headquarters Tuesday afternoon and is currently charged with three counts of mischief, three counts of assault, and three counts of assault with a weapon.
He was later released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
