A man accused of murder in Tilbury will have his mental health assessed to determine if he's criminally responsible.
The case of Ken Baylis, 32, was before the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Friday morning.
Baylis will now undergo a mental health assessment and be back in court February 27, 2024.
In April 2023, he was charged with second degree murder after Daniel Marchand, 45, was reported missing and later found dead at a home on Dufferin Avenue in Tilbury.
Defence lawyer Greg McGivern requested the assessment and a one-month adjournment.
The case is under a publication ban and evidence cannot be reported.
Police previously said a post-mortem examination was completed and the preliminary cause of death was determined to be homicide.
