Warming centre opens ahead of cold weather in Chatham-Kent

Hope Haven in Chatham is offering residents a place to stay warm overnight ahead of the cold weather forecasted for the region.

According to Environment Canada, cold weather is expected to move into Chatham-Kent starting Wednesday evening and lasting through to Monday.

Chatham Hope Haven will operate as a warming centre from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. until Monday, February 19.

The shelter is located at 183 Wellington Street West in Chatham.

Hope Haven is also open daily from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Anyone who needs assistance with transportation to Chatham Hope Haven for warming, or anyone experiencing homelessness should contact the Homeless Response Line (HRL) at 519-354-6628.
