Heavy rain in the forecast has prompted the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) to issue a flood outlook.
Environment Canada said a low pressure system will dump 20 to 40 millimetres of rain across the region beginning Friday evening through Saturday.
The national weather agency issued a special weather statement for Sarnia-Lambton Thursday.
The conservation authority said significant flooding is not expected at this time but water levels are expected to rise in area creeks and streams.
The soil is expected to become saturated and could also contribute to ponding, increased runoff and seepage issues.
We're reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due slippery banks and cold, fast moving water.
The Conservation Authority continues to monitor watershed conditions and will issue advisories to municipalities and media should flood issues arise.
The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority includes the Sydenham River watershed and smaller watersheds draining directly into southern Lake Huron, the St. Clair River and northeastern Lake St. Clair.
