Break and enter and assault

A Chatham youth was arrested after residents of a Tweedsmuir Avenue residence found him sitting in a bedroom in their home.

Police said the homeowners made the discovery after waking up early in the morning and were startled to find the youth.

Residents of the home removed the youth and a fight started.

Police said the male continued to fight until officers arrived.

After his arrest he was released to his parents and given a future court date.

Assault with weapon/administer noxious substance

A 34 year-old woman has been charged after a verbal argument took place between two women over a man in Wallaceburg.

The argument escalated and one of the women pulled out bear spray and sprayed the other with it.

The 34 year-old is being charged with assault with a weapon and applying a noxious substance.

She has since been released with conditions to stay away from the other woman and a future court date.

St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

RIDE programs will be out to ensure the safety of everyone in the community for St. Patrick's Day.

Police are reminding people to not drink and drive and if you do you may risk criminal charges, license suspension and your vehicle towed and impounded.
