Warming centre opens ahead of cold weather in Chatham

Hope Haven in Chatham will be opening its doors overnight to keep residents warm from a blast of cold weather expected across the region.

According to Environment Canada, cold weather is expected to move into Chatham-Kent starting Thursday evening and last through Saturday.

Chatham Hope Haven will operate as a warming centre from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. until Saturday, March 23.

The shelter is located at 183 Wellington Street West in Chatham.

Anyone who needs assistance with transportation to Chatham Hope Haven for warming, or anyone experiencing homelessness should contact the Homeless Response Line (HRL) at 519-354-6628.
