Wanted man turns himself in

A 37-year-old Chatham man who was wanted on a pair of outstanding warrants made it easy for Chatham-Kent police to find him Wednesday morning.

Police said the man turned himself in at CK police headquarters at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday.

He was wanted for failing to attend court and for bail violations and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing, then later released with a future court date.

The man is currently charged with two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking along with one count each of possession of stolen property, assault causing bodily harm, and failing to attend court.

Wanted Windsor man arrested in Chatham

The law has come calling for a 34-year-old Windsor man who was wanted on a court order.

CK police said they arrested him on Grand Avenue West in Chatham at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and took him to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

As a result of that hearing, the man was set to remain in custody until a court appearance on April 3.

Wanted Chatham man shows up at the courthouse

A 41-year-old Chatham man who was wanted in connection with a break-and-enter investigation going back to December of 2023 is facing charges and a hearing with a judge.

CK police said the man was arrested at the courthouse on Grand Avenue West in Chatham when he arrived there just before 12 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers recognized the man from previous encounters and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant before arresting him.

He was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing, facing charges of mischief and break-and-enter.

Argument leads to pair of arrests

Two people who weren't supposed to be communicating with each other are facing charges after police saw them arguing on Prince Street North in Chatham.

Police said an officer on general patrol saw them over the noon-hour on Wednesday and learned the woman was bound by a probation order that banned her from communicating with the man.

Officers also confirmed that the man was aware of the condition, but was knowingly speaking with her anyway.

The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

The 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man was also arrested. He was charged with facilitating a breach of a probation order.

Both of the accused were arrested and taken to police headquarters before they were released with conditions and a future court date.

Wanted Chatham woman arrested after landlord-tenant dispute

An argument between a landlord and a tenant led police to a wanted woman on Wednesday.

Officers said they were called to the scene on Jeffrey Street in Chatham just after 3 p.m. and found a 39-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted for failing to attend court.

She was arrested and later released with a future court date.

Man answers the door at home he was supposed to stay away from

A 52-year-old Chatham-Kent man is back in police custody after he allegedly answered the door at an address he was supposed to be avoiding.

Police said they found him while they were investigating a bail violation in Raleigh Township just before 1 a.m. Thursday.

Officers said the man who answered the door at the residence had been banned from contacting or associating with the resident of that specific address.

He was arrested and charged with three counts of failing to comply with a probation order and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.

The man was taken to police headquarters and he was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Police nab wanted woman on Grand Avenue West in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police have caught up with a 29-year-old Chatham woman who was wanted in connection with a theft investigation and a surety sign off.

Officers said they found her on Grand Avenue West at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday and took her into police custody where she was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Police said she is currently facing a long list of charges including seven counts of theft, six counts of possession of stolen property, and two counts of assault in addition to other offences.

Wanted man shows up on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg

A 25-year-old Wallaceburg man who was wanted for failing to attend court is facing another court date now.

Police said they arrested him on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg just before 4 p.m. Wednesday after confirming he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

He was later released with a future court date.
