Man Charged with Impaired Driving in Chatham
Impaired driving charges have been laid against a 23-year-old Chatham man after a vehicle nearly struck a median and swerved into oncoming traffic in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they received a report of a possible impaired driver on Monday and shortly after found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The officer believed the man was driving while under the influence of drugs and arrested him.
He was tested further at police headquarters and was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drug(s).
He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle/Break and Enter in Chatham
A 37-year-old London man has been arrested and charged after a Chatham-Kent police officer spotted a stolen vehicle in Chatham on Monday afternoon.
Police said the officer was alerted by the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system of a vehicle that was stolen and attempted to approach the vehicle while it was parked, but the vehicle took off.
There was no police pursuit, but shortly after, the vehicle was found empty in the area of Queen Street in Chatham and a man was seen running into backyards, according to police.
Police noted a perimeter was setup and a police dog was used to track the individual.
The suspect was found hiding inside the garage of a house, that police allege he broke into.
He has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and break and enter.
Police said the stolen vehicle and stolen property taken from the garage were recovered.

Mischief in Tilbury
A search has begun for whoever caused significant damage at a business in Tilbury.
Police reported somebody put black tar on 49 tractors and skid steers early Sunday morning at the business in Tilbury, causing approximately $100,000 in damage.

Commercial Break and Enter in Chatham
Chatham-Kent police are looking for suspects of a break and enter at a Chatham restaurant.
Police said sometime overnight on Monday, someone forced their way into the unidentified restaurant in Chatham through a glass door and took approximately $150 worth of alcohol.

Pair Arrested on Outstanding Warrants
A woman from Wallaceburg and a man from Chatham have been arrested on outstanding warrants.
Chatham-Kent police said the 48-year-old Chatham man was arrested Tuesday morning.
The 42-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested Monday morning.
