Wallaceburg man accused of hitting woman with a cooking pan
A 45-year-old Wallaceburg man is facing a handful of charges after he allegedly hit a woman with a steel cooking pan during a domestic disturbance in Wallaceburg Tuesday night.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to an address at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday and learned that the man had also allegedly knocked furniture onto the woman while she was lying on the floor and threatened to harm her.
Investigators said the woman needed medical attention for her injuries and that the man took off before officers arrived.
Police said they used a drone to find the man, who was hiding in a backyard.
The man was arrested just after 11:15 p.m. Tuesday and was taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.
He is charged with assault, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.

Man arrested for smashing business window with rock
A 22-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing a mischief charge after he allegedly smashed the window at a gas station on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Officers said they were called to the business at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and learned the man had broken the window with a rock.
The man was arrested at the scene and officers took him to back to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Chatham woman charged with mischief for breaking window
A 28-year-old Chatham woman is also charged with mischief after she allegedly broke a window at a residence on Harvey Street in Chatham early Wednesday morning.
Police said they were called in just before 4 a.m. for that.
The woman was arrested, charged, and later released with conditions and a future court date.
