Chatham man arrested for assault
A 40-year-old Chatham man is facing an assault charge after he allegedly attacked a woman during an argument.
Chatham-Kent police said they found the woman while they were responding to a disturbance call shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers learned the man and the woman were arguing before the man allegedly assaulted her, leaving her with visible physical injuries.
A 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and taken to police headquarters before he was released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested for failing to attend court
Chatham-Kent police have caught up with a 58-year-old man accused of skipping his court date.
Police said they found him on Lawrence Avenue in Wallaceburg at around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.
The 58-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Accused shoplifter arrested in Tilbury
A 37-year-old Tilbury man who was wanted for shoplifting earlier this month has been arrested.
CK police said they found the man on Young Street in Tilbury shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday and confirmed he was wanted for a shoplifting investigation in Tilbury from June 10.
He was arrested, charged with theft and possession of stolen property, and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Blenheim man wanted for assault turns himself in
A 56-year-old Blenheim man who managed to avoid police for the past three months in connection with an assault investigation has turned himself in.
Chatham-Kent police said the man showed up at CK police headquarters shortly after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
He was arrested, charged with assault, and later released with a future court date.

Chatham-Kent man arrested for throwing scrap wood at a youth
A 50-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing several charges after he allegedly yelled at a youth and threw a piece of scrap wood at them.
CK police said they got that call shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers said their investigation showed that the youth was riding a scooter through a parking lot on King Street East in Chatham when a man started yelling at them.
The man then allegedly picked up a discarded piece of wood and threw it at the youth, causing a "minor physical injury."
Police arrested the man a short distance away and also learned that he was breaching a pair of his release conditions that banned him from having any weapons and ordered him to stay inside during certain times of the day.
The man was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.
He was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order and one count each of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
