Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Chatham-Kent.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday, meteorologists issued a statement and said the storm is capable of producing strong wind gusts, pea to dime size hail, and heavy rain.
The warning ended before 4 p.m., less than two hours later.
Residents were warned that strong winds can toss loose objects, damage buildings and trees, and overturn large vehicles.
Tornado warnings were issued in nearby counties, though they were quickly downgraded.
The weather agency and Emergency Management Ontario recommend taking cover immediately if you are outdoors when threatening weather approaches.
