Men Arrested for Failing to Attend Court

Chatham-Kent police say a man wanted for missing a court appearance related to shoplifting charges has turned himself in.

Police say the man surrendered just after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Chatham man was released with a future court date of August 19, 2024. He is currently facing charges of public intoxication, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, four counts of possession of stolen property and four counts of theft.

A second man wanted for missing court was arrested around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday. Middlesex OPP contacted Chatham-Kent police to say they had the man in custody.

The man was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court in relation to impaired driving charges.

The 44-year-old Wardsville man was released with conditions and a future court date of August 19, 2024.

A third man wanted for missing court was arrested just before 1 p.m. behind a business on Keil Drive South in Chatham. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to make a scheduled court appearance in relation to a bail violation and theft investigation.

The 45-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He's charged with obstructing police, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and two counts of theft.

Woman Arrested for Bail Violations

At 9:30 p.m., a woman attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned herself in to the police. The woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for not complying with release conditions.

The 19-year-old Chatham woman was released with conditions and a future court date of August 12, 2024. She is charged two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court

On July 17, 2024, at 12:13 a.m., police located the woman on Grand Avenue East in Chatham. The woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a probation violation investigation.

The 44-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a future court date of August 12, 2024.

Man and Woman Arrested for on CKPS Warrants in Leamington

On July 17, 2024, at 3:00 a.m., the OPP contacted the Chatham-Kent Police advising they had in custody a man and woman who were wanted on CKPS warrants.

The woman was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to weapon and drug offences in 2021.

The man was wanted for bail violations and weapon offences in 2021.

The 27-year-old Comber man and the 31-year-old Windsor woman were transported to police headquarters where they were held pending a bail hearing.

The man is currently facing the following charges: unauthorized possession of a weapon and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

The woman is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with an undertaking, failing to attend court, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance with the purpose of trafficking.
