Two Arrested for Intimate Partner Violence
Assault charges have been laid against a man and a woman, both from Chatham, following two alleged and separate intimate partner violence incidents in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police allege a 31-year-old Chatham man assaulted his former 24-year-old girlfriend and threatened her life Thursday morning, while also destroying some of her property.
He has been charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, and mischief under $5,000.
The other intimate partner violence incident in Chatham resulted in a 63-year-old Chatham woman being charged with one count of domestic related assault after she allegedly assaulted a 41-year-old Chatham man Thursday night, who was her ex-boyfriend.

Man Arrested for Impaired Driving
Various callers get the credit for a 25-year-old Chatham man being stopped in Wallaceburg before he did any further damage.
Chatham-Kent police said officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Base Line Road in Wallaceburg early Friday morning after getting information from various callers that a vehicle was driving erratically and believed it had been in a crash as a result of hearing a loud bang.
The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.
Police said his vehicle was impounded for seven days and his license was suspended for 90 days.

Two Chatham Males Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property
Chatham-Kent police have arrested two men from Chatham for allegedly stealing two 150-year-old door handles that were removed from a church in Chatham.
Police said they got a call Thursday morning about the incident in the area of Wellington Street in Chatham and arrested a 38-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, both from Chatham and known to police.
The 31-year-old man resisted arrest, according to police, and was charged accordingly.
Police also reported the suspect allegedly had an illegal substance.
The 31-year-old is facing several charges, including possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, resisting a peace officer, and possession of a schedule I substance.
The 38-year-old man was released on scene with a future court date.

Break and Enter in Chatham
The search is on for whoever broke into a church in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said someone forced their way through a window into the church in the area of Lacroix Street in Chatham sometime overnight on Friday, causing approximately $200 in damage.

Chatham Man Arrested for a Probation Violation
A Chatham man who was under orders to not attend a business in Chatham has been arrested and charged.
Chatham-Kent police reported they were contacted by a business in the area of Tecumseh Road in Chatham Thursday morning, advising them that an unwanted male was on their property. The caller said he had trespassed before and had orders to stay away from the business.
The 49-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
