CK Public Health issues notice about unlicensed tattoo artist

CK Public Health is asking people who might have gotten a tattoo in the last six months from an unlicensed tattoo artist to contact them as soon as possible.

Based on the information it has, CK Public Health thinks the tattoo services were likely provided in or near Bothwell.

Community members who received a tattoo service at this unlicensed and uninspected tattoo provider are potentially at risk of contracting a bloodborne infection, including HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.

Anyone impacted by this notice is urged to contact CK Public Health at 519-355-1071 ext. 2902 or their primary health provider.

If you are planning on getting a tattoo, public health encourages people to use a business that is inspected and compliant with infection prevention. Inspection results can be reviewed here.
