The holiday season is a time of giving, at least that's what the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is banking on as it launches its major winter fundraiser.
The 'Igniting Healthcare Holiday 50/50' begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and features a $50,000 minimum guaranteed jackpot and $10,000 in total Early Bird prizes. The proceeds will support the purchase of new equipment for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).
"This really is the most wonderful time of the year, and we encourage everyone to help make this an extra special holiday season by supporting our Igniting Healthcare Holiday 50/50," said Christine Mitchell, President and CEO of CKHAF. "Every ticket purchased brings us closer to acquiring this crucial fluoroscopy machine and will have a profound impact for many local patients."
According to CKHAF, a fluoroscopy machine is a piece of imaging technology that enables real-time X-ray guidance which would allow hospital staff to perform accurate, minimally invasive procedures and reduce patient recovery times.
The 50/50 will run throughout the holiday season, with the grand prize draw to be held on Thursday, January 9.
CKHAF will once again be giving away '12 Days of Prizes.'
An Early Bird prize will be given out daily between December 2-5, December 9-12, and December 16-19. And additional Early Bird Prize, worth $2,000 will also be given away on Wednesday, January 8.
Last year's inaugural holiday 50/50 raised over $119,000 in ticket sales resulting in a $59,545 jackpot. The big prize went to Carol Heuvelmans from Erieau.
There are four ticket options available:
5 numbers for $10
20 numbers for $20
150 numbers for $50
500 numbers for $100
They can be purchased online here, or in-person at the CKHAF office (9 Ursuline Avenue in Chatham).
