Local and provincial politicians will be touring Ursuline College Chatham (UCC) to check out the school's skilled trades programs.
The St. Clair Catholic District School Board (SCCDSB) announced that Ontario's Minister of Education Jill Dunlop, MPP for Chatham-Kent-Leamington Trevor Jones, and Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff will visit UCC on Monday, December 16.
The visit is meant to emphasize the importance of skilled trades education and the career opportunities it provides for students.
"Skilled trades education is a key pillar in Ontario’s efforts to build a strong and resilient workforce," said Minister Dunlop. "I look forward to seeing firsthand how these programs are providing students with the hands-on experience and technical skills they need to shape their futures, while contributing to our province's economy."
Students will showcase projects in carpentry, welding, hairstyling, and spa treatments.
