Goodfellows wrap up Street Sales, still looking for volunteers for deliveries

The Chatham Goodfellows got another strong show of support during a fundraiser they held over the weekend.

The Goodfellows managed to collect $31,475 during their 70th annual Street Sales fundraiser on December 13 and 14.

That's an increase of about $1,500 from last year's total.

The money that was raised will go to buying food, toys, and anything the Goodfellows need to spend money on out-of-pocket for their volunteer-led operations.

Next up for the Goodfellows is their toy delivery, which is taking place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The packing is all done, but they are still looking for more volunteers to help with the deliveries.

If you are interested in delivering toys, you can meet the Goodfellows at 255 Lark Street in Chatham Tuesday evening and they will direct you to where you need to go.

"We've got about 700 [toy] deliveries this year," said Tim Haskell with the Chatham Goodfellows. "That's about 1,360 or so kids."

Haskell said they appreciate all of the help they get.

After the toy deliveries, the food packing and delivery is on Wednesday at the Spirit and Life Centre in Chatham.

The packing will start at 8 a.m. Wednesday with deliveries starting to go out at 11:30 a.m.
