Christmas came early for the residents of Chatham's Riverview Gardens.
Santa and Mrs. Claus visited the long-term care facility on Monday and handed out presents donated by people across Chatham-Kent.
Stacey Carther, who works as a personal support worker at Riverview Gardens, told CK News Today she was inspired by the local Adopt a Senior for Christmas Program.
"I've seen residents' families come in and out and I've seen other residents not get any family members (to come in) and I just wanted to put smiles on their faces," she said.
Every one of the 320 people who call Riverview Gardens home received a gift. While getting everything sorted out was quite difficult, seeing how happy it made everyone made it worth it for Carther.
"As soon as they seen Santa and Mrs. Claus their faces lit up like a Christmas tree," she laughed.

Meanwhile, Carther noted this wouldn't have been possible without all the people who bought gifts, her family, and staff at the facility.
