Chatham-Kent Toy Show & Sale back for 22nd year

Thousands of people and hundreds of vendors will be at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham later this month for the Chatham-Kent Toy Show and Sale.

The 22nd annual event will take place on Sunday, January 19 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

"It's grown quite a bit," said Rob Sterling, one of the event's organizers. "The first year we held it, I think we had about 30 or 40 tables of displays and vendors, and now we have over 200, so it's expanded quite a bit."

"We are using every table that the convention centre has to put on this show," added Carl Sterling, one of the other organizers, who said they sold out of vendor spots last month, the earliest that's every happened.

In 2024, over 2,500 attended the Toy Show and Sale, and the Sterlings said that there is something for everyone at the show, from sports cards and sports memorabilia to comic books and coins.

"All kinds of toys and model trains, cars, historical books, model ships and planes, dolls. Any kind of toy, any kind of collection, you will see it there," said Carl.

There will also hands on activities for the kids to do.

"Home Depot will be there with their kids workshop, so that's always a hit with the younger kids, " said Rob. "We'll have a number of interactive displays for children as well in addition to that, so the ability to do some hands on activities for kids."

Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for students and children and free for children six and younger.

All of the money raised goes to the Chatham-Kent 4H Farm Toy Club, and Chatham Outreach for Hunger. In 2024, they were able to donate $8,000 to the food bank.
