UPDATE: CKPS Emergency Response Team called in for police investigation

The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) said a 44-year-old man was arrested in connection to a police presence in Thamesville.

On Saturday, police said there was an ongoing police investigation and residents may see an increased police presence.

Police said the man was allegedly at the centre of a break and enter investigation and barricaded himself inside his home and would not exit.

The CKPS Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called out because of the possibility of the suspect having access to weapons.

The man was arrested without incident several hours later.

There was no risk to the public's safety.
