Impaired motorcyclist seen hitting school bus

A 30-year-old Chatham man is facing impaired driving charges after taking he was allegedly seen pounding his fist on the side of an empty school bus.

Chatham-Kent police say they were called to Richmond Street in Chatham shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday for the case.

Officers who found the man believed he was intoxicated, so he was arrested and taken back to police headquarters for further testing.

The man was later charged with two impaired driving-related offences and was released with a future court date.

Wallaceburg woman accused of assaulting police officer

A 25-year-old woman is facing charges after police followed up on several calls about an erratic driver early Thursday evening.

CK police said they were called to Langstaff Line in Wallaceburg at around 5:30 p.m. and ended up arresting a 25-year-old Wallaceburg woman.

Police said she was charged with one count each of resisting a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer, uttering threats, failing to surrender an insurance card, and failing to surrender a permit for a motor vehicle.

She was also charged with two counts of impaired driving.

The accused was later released with a future court date.

Loitering near ATM leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent police managed to cross another name off of their wanted list when they picked up a 33-year-old woman who was seen loitering at a local ATM in Chatham.

Police said they found her on St. Clair Street shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday and learned she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.

She was later released with a future court date.
