Victoria Day is the unofficial beginning of summer and the cause of closures across the municipality.
The holiday Monday will see the closure of municipal offices and most services, including Employment and Social Services, Fleet Services, and Housing Services. The Homelessness Response Line (519-354-6628) will be available in the case of homeless emergencies. While Public Works offices will be closed, Road and Water/Wastewater services will be available in an emergency.
Leaf and Yard Depots and Waste Depots will be shut Monday. Curbside garbage and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day for the whole week of May 19.
Service Ontario, Entegrus, the Public Utilities Commission, and the Provincial Offences Court will also be closed in recognition of Victoria Day.
CK Public Health will be closed, tough after hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.
Services at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) sites in Chatham and Wallaceburg will be altered.
During the statutory holiday, some outpatient diagnostic tests will take place. Patients with scheduled diagnostic tests are advised to attend their appointments. Hemodialysis Care will also be open, as will Emergency Departments.
All pools, arenas, theatres, museums, galleries, and libraries will be closed on Monday.
And those who use the bus will need to find a different way to get around on Monday as RIDE CK Transit Services won't be in operation.
