Chatham man arrested for breaking into home under construction
A 27-year-old Chatham man is facing charges in connection with a break-in on Northland Drive in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene on Thursday for a suspicious person entering a home under construction.
A male suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but police were able to find a man who fit the suspect description that was provided to officers.
He was arrested a short distance from the scene and was later charged with breaking and entering, possession of property obtained by crime, mischief, and breaching his probation.
The accused was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Alberta man hit with impaired driving charge in Chatham
A 35-year-old man from Alberta has a future court date after CK police got a call about a possible impaired driver in Chatham.
Police said someone called in a traffic complaint Thursday evening about a vehicle on King Street West that was swerving and may have hit a sign.
Officers found the suspect's vehicle in the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham and initiated a traffic stop.
Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol, so he was arrested and taken to police headquarters for further testing.
He was later charged with driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 mL of blood before he was released with a future court date.
