Man Arrested After Employee Sprayed with Unknown Substance During Robbery
Chatham-Kent police have charged a 36-year-old man with robbery after he allegedly stole from a business.
At around 6:15 p.m. on Monday, police were called to a store in Blenheim.
There, they found an employee who claimed he was sprayed in the face with a noxious substance. He told officers he ran to a secure area of the store while the man took cash from the register.
The victim did need medical help, but police did not clarify what he was sprayed with.
Through video surveillance, officers were able to identify a suspect.
The next day, police arrested a 36-year-old man and charged him with robbery using violence.
Man Charged After Allegedly Assaulting Two People During Break-In
A 33-year-old man has been charged with assault after allegedly breaking into a Chatham home and attacking multiple people.
Shortly before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, CK police received a call about a fire in a home's driveway.
After investigating, police say a man entered the home without permission and confronted a woman, making threatening remarks.
He then reportedly assaulted two other people in the home with a weapon, striking one of them several times.
Police arrested a 33-year-old man the next day, charging him with breaking and entering, two counts of assault with a weapon, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Police did not specify whether the man had anything to do with the fire in the driveway.
