SCCDSB trustees approve balanced $154.8M for 2025-26 school year

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board (SCCDSB) has a balanced spending plan in place for the next school year.

Board trustees approved on Monday evening a $154.8-million budget for the 2025-2026 school year.

"This budget places students at the centre of all decisions,” said SCCDSB Board Chair John Van Heck. "It reflects the board’s dedication to maximizing impact and ensuring that every dollar advances our mission, to nurture faith, inspire learning, and build a strong future for Catholic education."

The spending plan includes funding for six new full-time employees who will focus on mental health and student support, plus increased support for mathematics.

The budget also includes money for continued maintenance and renewal of school facilities, proactive planning based on community needs and enrolment trends, and additional support for Catholic identity and faith development.

"Our 2025-2026 budget balances today’s priorities with tomorrow’s opportunities,” said SCCDSB Associate Director of Corporate Services Amy Park. "Strategic investments in academics, well-being, and faith ensure a strong, sustainable future for our entire system."

Complete information on the SCCDSB budget can be found on its official website.
